Choose BeachBody for a Healthy Lifestyle
There are a lot of fitness programs out there, but few are as convenient and comprehensive as Carl Daikeler’s BeachBody. Daikeler’s career started in production for NFL halftime shows. He followed that up with filming infomercials for a slew of products. After noticing that a lot of the products he created videos for were related to at-home exercise, he thought he could make a difference in the lives of a lot of people.
Carl Daikeler knew that for many individuals, going to the gym was a source of embarrassment or shame. Nobody wants to be laughed at when they first start exercising, especially if they’re overweight or obese. Going to a gym can be logistically challenging for parents of young kids and people with busy work schedules. That’s why Daikeler created BeachBody.
The BeachBody program consists of exercise videos a person can use at home. The series began with just a few videos, but it rapidly took off when people realized how convenient and easy it was to exercise in the privacy and comfort of their own living room or bedroom. Within a few years, there were hundreds of options for people to choose. From Pilates to yoga and weight lifting to high-intensity interval training, there’s a video for everyone.
In 2015, Daikeler created BeachBody on Demand. The subscription service facilitates exercise from anywhere. In 2018, OpenFit, an exercise app, joined the program. Carl Daikeler also wanted to improve the nutritional aspect of wellness. In his observations, Americans tend to avoid vegetables. Instead of healthy food, many people choose convenient fast food meals that are high in sugar, fat and calories and low in fiber, vitamins and protein.
Daikeler and his co-founders created Shakeology to address nutritional issues in the average American adult’s diet. Shakeology focuses on protein and fiber. Vegans can pick the plant-based protein option. There’s a flavor for every taste preference, or participants can select a sampler pack to try them all. Shakeology’s shakes take the place of an unhealthy fast food meal. They can also be enjoyed with side dishes, such as fresh fruit or salad.
