Lisa Shirley is the head of Dean Omar Branham Shirley motion and appellate practices. She grew up in Texas though moving to New Orleans, Louisiana. Lisa looked forward to studying law to help those people who needed justice and could not afford to hire a lawyer. Instead, she went to Tulane Law School, where she graduated as the second one in her class in 1999.
After graduation, Lisa began working for a judge in the Louisiana Supreme Court. She was granted permission to solve civil rights cases for legal services clients in Florida. However, in 2006 Lisa went back to Texas, where she represented those harmed by pharmaceuticals and asbestos. She was supposed to write legal briefs that advocate for her clients. Instead, Lisa feels it is her responsibility to make sure she acts as the voice of clients whose stories should be told. She aims to live with kindness and compassion and also spend time helping those people who need justice.
Being part of Dean Omar Branham Shirley has helped her achieve all her dreams. However, she worked as a volunteer in Dallas for many years. Dallas Volunteer Attorney Project is a non-profit organization that offers free legal services. They mainly deal with probate, family law, and landlord-tenant cases.
